Do you have a sweet tooth? Sweet can hinder your physical appearance when exercising. A chocolate bar can be satisfying for a little while but can have devastating effects in the long run. So how do you lower your sweet tooth without cutting sugar from your diet? The first thing you need to do is to cut a few of these terrible foods that will destroy all of your progress.
Can Soda. Soda can be kicked out of your diet by simply replacing with diet soda, then transitioning into switching that to seltzer with a slice of citrus. From there, the move to plain water should be easy.
Yogurt. Yogurt can contain a lot of calories and sugars if they have their own fruits added. Try buying natural yogurt with no sugar added, then toss in your own fresh fruits.
Snacks. If you have an addiction to snack that you want to quit, try snacking on nuts, unbuttered popcorn, whole grains, and fruits.
Fruit juice. Like fruit juice or fruity drinks? these drinks consist of 10% of added sugar in most people’s diets. Dilute your fruit juice with water to reduce the amount of sugar and calories.
Cereal. Cereal is the number one source of sugars in breakfasts. Cut the frosted flakes. Swap out your cereals (slowly by mixing them) with some high fiber or grain cereals.
Your body is extremely adaptive and can counter these sugar cravings if you gradually ease into a healthier diet. The longer your body goes without sugar, the less it will crave it. The best way is not to quit cold turkey, but to give yourself time to adjust with simple tricks, cheat days and slow adjustments. Just be sure to eventually kill your sweet tooth because if you don’t, it may come back with a vengeance.
